Bungie is gearing up for the release of Destiny 2's Season of the Drifter on March 5, which applies a number of changes for the game's PvE/PvP mashup, Gambit.

First up, the pace of final rounds will be increased thanks to the addition of a Primeval rush sudden death, resulting in faster matches overall. Players who remain dormant for whatever reason will be knocked out of any end-game rewards, including Infamy Points, while the Light vs. Light Triumph can now be accomplished by simply eliminating Guardians using a Super.

Other tweaks have been implemented for Block types, as detailed below.

-Small Blocker = Taken Goblin with less health than the previous Phalanx.

-Medium Blocker = Taken Captain with more health than the previous Knight.

-Large Blocker = Taken Knight with more health than the previous Ogre.

Don't quit on Season of the Forge just yet, though. Bungie has confirmed that it will be dishing out triple Infamy Points for its final week, starting on February 26 at 5.00pm GMT.

Bungie is now going solo with Destiny, having split from long-time publisher Activision earlier this year. If we're to believe the latest murmurs, we'll see a sequel to Destiny 2 turn up in 2020.
