Destiny 2’s Prestige Leviathan Raid delayed, but the first Iron Banner goes live today

Bungie has announced that the planned Prestige Leviathan Raid won’t be out today, and will instead be launched on October 18. The delay is needed in order to remove an exploit that reduces the challenge of the Raid boss, Emperor Calus. It’s not all bad news though, as a new PvP map has been announced, and the first Iron Banner goes live today. Chin up Raiders.

In a post on the Destiny forums, the Community Manager Cozmo revealed that the Leviathan Prestige Raid was being postponed. Cozmo said that, ‘An exploit has been discovered in the Leviathan Raid that causes the encounters to be stripped of their intended challenge. To allow time to fix this issue, we are delaying the start of the Prestige Raid until next week.’ This news may come as a bit of a bummer to those who were looking forward to showing off their Destiny 2 skills, and Cozmo confirmed that the Prestige Raid will be available from 5pm BST on October 18.

Cozmo continued, writing that, ‘It’s important to us that the team who earns World First status doesn’t have their legacy tarnished by doubt, skepticism, or uncertainty.’ Which you can’t really argue with, especially when folks have been able to cheese the boss with reckless abandon.

So, there’s no Prestige Raid for now, but there’s a new PvP map coming. It’s called Distant Shore, and it’s set to go live alongside the game’s first Iron Banner (my body is ready). The map won’t be available in all of the Crucible playlists until the end of the Iron Banner, so you’ll have to wait. The Iron Banner event will run from October 10-17. Also, here’s a little tip: If Lord Saladin is not in the first Tower that you go to, return to orbit and try again. Thank me later.
