Ever since its release, Destiny has always done something in-game when Halloween rolls around. This year, however, that’s all changed and there’ll be no Festival of the Lost event.
In a response to a fan question on Twitter, Bungie’s community manager, David ‘Deej’ Dague, confirmed that there’d be no Halloween-themed event this time.
For the last two years, Festival of the Lost has given players the opportunity to complete some seasonal quests related to Halloween while also giving players the chance to pick up plenty of treats, such as consumables, masks, and emotes. The game’s social spaces have even undergone a wee spruce up in line with the spooky theme.
No, Sir. We may see it again someday but Season 1 has been about launch and ritual activation. The first event for Destiny 2 is The Dawning.

In the meantime, Bungie recently spoke at Twitchcon 2017 about its plans to bring seasonal content to Destiny 2 over the coming year, and the first seasonal event coming to the game will be the winter-themed The Dawning.
