Bungie is well aware that Strike idling in Destiny 2 has been a thing for a while now, and is taking steps to ensure that sneaky Guardians won’t so easily be able to take advantage of this known exploit.

The studio is working on an update that will reduce the amount of time it takes to boot Guardians out of a Strike and back into Orbit. Why is this significant? Well, previously, it was possible to sit around idle in a mission and let your poor teammates do the donkey work, effectively getting rewarded for doing sod all. With this new update, that won’t really be possible anymore (and rightly so).

‘Players will now be removed after 3 minutes of inactivity. If you encounter issues, please report to the #Help forum,’ said the developer.

Destiny 2 recently received a major title update, Go Fast, which applied a number of key sandbox changes and Crucible tweaks for the shared-world shooter. Looking ahead, the game’s second expansion (rumoured to be titled The Fallen Warmind) is due to launch in May alongside another large patch, with a third DLC drop coming in late 2018.
