Bungie is rolling out the much-anticipated Destiny 2 update 1.1.4 (otherwise known as Go Fast) today, bringing with it a host of major improvements for the shared-world shooter’s competitive multiplayer.

Speaking in a new video update, Destiny 2 Sandbox Designer, Josh Hamrick, revealed that the studio took a different approach to tweaking weapon balancing this time around; instead of nerfing powerful guns, they instead brought everything else up to the same level.

In addition, some of the Super abilities have been tweaked, Power Ammo has been changed to speed up the pace of the game, while character movement is now ‘way faster’ than before.

‘This is a motion towards what we all believe is the right direction, and I think this update, especially for sandbox, is by and large the biggest version of that,’ said Hamrick. ‘We want to make a game that we all love.’

Bungie confirmed last week that Go Fast will also implement a number of key anti-cheat measures for Crucible’s Competitive Playlist. Destiny 2’s second expansion is rumoured to be titled The Fallen Warmind.
