Destiny 2 developer Bungie has revealed it is planning on dishing out temporary restrictions for players who quit Crucible matches early in the Competitive Playlist.

The new system will be implemented with Destiny 2 update 1.1.4, and will see frequent quitters blocked from joining a match for 30 minutes. It doesn’t matter if your reasons for leaving a game are as innocent as answering the door or your connection suddenly dropping; if it keeps happening, you’ll be slammed with a restriction.

‘Leaving a match early for any reason, from improper network settings to an idle time-out while getting the door for a food delivery, can result in a temporary restriction. If you’re entering the Competitive playlist, make sure you have a solid connection and the proper time to complete your matches,’ said Bungie.

In addition, the former Halo developer is also bringing its boot down on cheaters with new security measures, and has no qualms in wielding the ban hammer against unscrupulous players.

Bungie recently confirmed that it has been forced to delay its Heroic Modifiers, with the feature now scheduled to roll out as part of Destiny 2 update 1.2.0. The game’s expansion, rumoured to be titled The Fallen Warmind, will be released at some point in May.
