There’s three things you can pretty much guarantee in life: The sun will rise every morning, we’ll all die, and Destiny 2 will be taken offline for maintenance again. Oddly enough, that’s just what will happen next week, with Bungie confirming another batch of downtime for its alien shooter.

Destiny 2 will be brought offline on January 16 at 11.00am GMT, after which you won’t be able to log in to the game. If you’re already playing you’ll be swiftly booted back to the title screen an hour later. Maintenance will wrap up at 8.00pm GMT, after which you will be required to download Destiny 2 hotfix 1.1.1.3.

Bungie earlier outlined a number of key updates for the MMO-flavoured shooter, beginning with a January patch and continuing with Crimson Days in February and yet more content planned for Spring 2018. Faction Rallies and Iron Banner are also on the horizon.

Alice was quite taken with Destiny 2 in her review of the game last year, despite finding the endless grinding a pain in the neck.Â
