Bungie has announced that it's bringing back a much-loved Crucible map for Destiny 2's latest Iron Banner event, which will be the first edition of the balls-to-the-walls PvP challenge of Season 3.

The map in question is Bannerfall, which takes place on an area of the Last City that shares many similarities to the social Tower space that you've probably spent countless hours in by now.

Bannerfall originally appeared in Destiny's 2015 expansion, The Taken King, and arrives here looking a bit worse for wear as it's taken a battering following the Red Legion's attack on the city.

Iron Banner will return with 6v6 battles today, with Control the game mode of choice. It'll run for one week as per the norm.

That's not all though. Iron Banner is also offering up a set of swanky new gear, including new rocket launcher, sniper rifle, and hand cannon ornaments. Check them out below.

Bungie recently teased details on Destiny's summer roadmap, which includes a new seasonal event among other highlights.
