Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag will release on next-generation consoles, including PlayStation 4 and – presumably – Microsoft’s next-gen Xbox this autumn, Ubisoft has confirmed.

Assassin’s Creed 4 is the second cross-generational title confirmed to be in development at Ubisoft. Watch Dogs was confirmed for release on PlayStation 4 during the console’s announcement last month.

As well as “improved graphics and physic [sic]”, the next-gen version will include “new connected features”.

However, it isn’t yet known whether the exclusive content available with the PS3 version of Black Flag will also be included with the PlayStation 4 release.

VideoGamer.com was shown video footage of the game running during a reveal event held in London last week. However, Ubisoft chose not to disclose which version of the game the footage was taken from.

Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag releases on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC and Wii U on November 1, 2013. Dates for the PC and next-generation versions have yet to be confirmed.
