Bungie has revealed that Destiny 2's Gambit mode will be available to play for free this weekend.

Gambit was introduced with the shared-world shooter's latest expansion, Forsaken, and combines elements of PvE and PvP into one competitive package. You don't need to worry about owning any of Destiny 2's previous expansion to play the free trial, either.

If this tickles your fancy, then you can get a taste of Gambit from 6.00pm BST on September 21 until 6.00pm BST, September 23.

Keep in mind that Destiny 2 recently brought back Iron Banner for another run, so there's plenty to keep you busy over the weekend. Well, actually, Bungie plans on keeping you occupied for a while yet; it's mapped out a year's worth of additional content as part of Forsaken's annual pass.

While there won't be any new planets introduced during this time, Destiny 2 players will still be able to enjoy new locations to explore.
