EDIT 17:45 GMT: The Bungie Help support account lets us know that Curse of Osiris is now live about an hour ahead of schedule. Full patch notes are here.

ORIGINAL STORY FOLLOWS: Curse of Osiris, the first expansion DLC for online shooter Destiny 2, is now available to download ahead of the servers being switched on later this evening.

The game’s servers was taken offline around 3pm GMT this afternoon for maintenance, and Bungie’s support account tweeted out the announcement that the expansion was available to download about an hour later. The servers will remain offline until the maintenance concludes, with Bungie hoping to have everything back online by around 6pm GMT this evening.

There’s a trailer marking the launch of course, giving a glimpse as to what can be expected in the pack. In case you weren’t aware yet, the pack will take the Guardians to Mercury, where the Vex robotic menace have been messing around with timelines, and you’re forced to team up with long-banished Guardian Osiris to take them on. There’s an increase in the level cap as well as a new Raid Lair, not to mention the addition of new Crucible maps and Heroic Strikes and raising the Power Level cap to 330.

Bungie has been busy of late trying to repair relations with its community via a State of Destiny address last week, the first round of changes are also set to go live in the base game alongside the expansion’s release.

Destiny 2 Curse of Osiris is available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
