Bungie took the covers off many more details of the upcoming Curse of Osiris expansion pack during their livestream last night, revealing oodles of details on how the world of Destiny 2 will expand when the pack lands next month.

Mercury, the new planet on which the new expansion takes place, will feature ‘The Infinite Forest’ – a virtual reality location built by the Vex that exists in three timelines; the past, the present and the future. Guardians will be able to switch between these timelines at will via activating trees and change the look, feel and layout of the area, with quests and NPCs that’ll also change between the three timelines.

For players itching to embark upon new endgame content, Bungie also took the lid off what they’re calling a ‘Raid Lair’ – rather than taking place in an entirely new location, it’ll take place in the underbelly of Calus’ ship as opposed to the upper palace where the existing raid takes place. Named ‘Eater of Worlds’ the Raid Lair is said to be shorter but tougher than the vanilla Raid, and will feature all new encounters and locations and a brand new boss. Apparently, Bungie have at least one more Raid Lair planned after this one set for Expansion Two.

Elsewhere,  Heroic Strikes – harder versions of Strikes that also offer better rewards –  are set to return from Destiny 1, the expansion raises the level cap for Guardians to 330 and Lost Sectors now won’t be marked on the map until you finish the story.

Speaking of the story, as previously mentioned back at the Paris Games Week reveal you’ll be tracking down Osiris, former Vanguard leader and Ikora’s mentor after the events of Red War from Destiny 2’s main campaign. You’ll also get the chance to meet the first Ghost other than your own in the form of Sagira who’s voiced by Deadpool actress Morena Baccarin.

Destiny 2: Curse of Osiris launches on December 5 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
