Bungie has announced that Destiny 2 will be getting a Forsaken pre-patch in late August, adding a couple of key features for the shared-world shooter.

Destiny 2 update 2.0.0 will drop on August 28 and includes the addition of weapon slot changes, with Heroic Story missions and Milestones & Challenges also part of the package.

Guardians will also receive an additional 500 spaces in the vault, which is good news for all you loot hounds out there that love nothing more than to horde all the gear you've hoovered up. Selfish gits, the lot of you.

Forsaken is obviously the meat of Destiny 2's major content plans for the rest of the year, and kicks off Season Two of the alien-blasting sequel.

Aside from killing off Cayde-6 (although Nathan Fillion isn't entirely convinced he's dead), the expansion introduces new modes such as the PvE/PvP hybrid Gambit, the competitive-based Breakthrough, and of course tons more armour and weapons.

Destiny 2: Forsaken is scheduled to ship for PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One on September 4.

If like me you're still finding it hard to prepare for a world without Cayde-6, then take comfort in the fact people do care about his impending demise.
