Deep Down will now be released at some point after the summer, producer Kazunori Sugiura is reported to have revealed during a roundtable interview.

“About Deep Down, I think we’ll give full fledged information to everyone after the summer, so you may have to wait for a little while beyond the launch [of PS4] on February 22nd,” said Sugiura.

A Deep Down beta was expected to launch at around the time of the PS4’s Japanese release.

Sugiura added: “Since we don’t want to risk to be told ‘This could have been done on PS3!’ we want to finish a game that fully uses the PS4 hardware specs.”

The game’s producer Yoshinori Ono said much the same, stating that the development team is making its maximum effort to create a new gaming experience.
