CAVE’s Deathsmiles – available as a Deluxe Edition in the UK – will be released on February 18 only on Xbox 360, Rising Star Games has announced.

The highly anticipated shmup featuring three different game modes – Arcade (original Arcade game), Xbox 360 (Arcade conversion) and Version 1.1 (conversion designed specifically for the Xbox 360) – and a two-player co-op mode where players can take up the challenge with a friend at home or via Xbox LIVE.

The PAL version of the game also includes the Mega Black Label pack: an expanded version of the game with a range of special features, an additional stage and an extra playable character.

Also only available in the PAL market is the Deluxe package, which includes the official Deathsmiles soundtrack and desktop accessory pack. The soundtrack features 23 tracks and the desktop accessory pack lets fans kit out their PC with exclusive Deathsmiles materials.

Deathsmiles is really only going to appeal to a hardcore niche, but it’s great to see Rising Star supporting the game with a Deluxe Edition – albeit a set which doesn’t match some of the more elaborate collector’s sets we’ve seen in recent times.
