Deadly Premonition: The Director’s Cut will be released in 2013 exclusively for PS3, Rising Star Games has announced.

The game follows FBI special agent Francis York Morgan as he investigates the murder of a young woman in the town of Greenvale.

The updated game promises a number of new features, including HD graphics (didn’t the original have this?), an updated control system, a brand new scenario from the game’s director, Hidetaka “Swery” Suehiro, and DLC to extend the game beyond the main story.

“Deadly Premonition: The Director’s Cut is both a love letter to fans that supported the game and a great update for new players,” said Yen Hau, product manager, Rising Star Games. “With the enhancements and new content, the team is confident that old players will re-experience Deadly Premonition the way it was intended to be and that new players will discover a narrative experience unlike any other game.”

We’re not sure how this can be a love letter to fans if it’s only coming to PS3, but we’re interested to see how the game has been improved.
