Visceral Games has announced Dead Space 2: Severed, an all-new digital download pack that extends the Dead Space 2 story with two standalone chapters in the single-player game.
DS2: Severed will star Gabe Weller and Lexine Murdock, the two main characters from Dead Space Extraction. The story of Weller and Lexine runs parallel to Isaac’s adventure in Dead Space 2, with players taking on the role of Gabe Weller.
Working as a Sprawl Security Guard, Weller has to fight against an onslaught of Necromorphs, as he attempts to get both him and Lexine to safety.
The DLC is said to be coming soon to PSN and Xbox LIVE.
Given that the majority of DLC tends to focus on multiplayer elements of games, it’s great to see EA and Visceral offering an extension to the single-player story in Dead Space 2.
There’s no word on pricing, but we imagine fans will be asked to pay – the included Online Pass registration only relates to online features of the game.
