EA and Visceral Games have unveiled details of Dead Space 2 multiplayer, confirming four vs four, humans vs necromorphs gameplay.

A video reveal on GameTrailers TV showed four human characters – members of the Sprawl security forces – attempting to survive an ongoing attack by necromorphs, also controlled by real players. It certainly appears to have a Left 4 Dead vibe about it.

As a necromorph players will be able to take control of four enemy types:

Lurkers: Long-range necromorphs, able to climb along walls.

The Pack: Necromorph children which are highly agile, able to jump onto humans and attack at close quarters.

Spitters: A female necromorph type able to projectile attack the Sprawl security forces.

Pukers: If these nauseating mutants get you they’ll puke all over your face. Not pleasant.

The GameTrailers reveal also showed off two of the game’s five maps: Titan Mine and Escape.
