Team Ninja has confirmed that Dead or Alive 6 will receive a free-to-play version of the game some time after launch.
Speaking with Siliconera, the game's director, Yohei Shimbori, said that a release date for this edition has yet to be set in stone, but it'll be similar to Dead or Alive 5: Core Fighters. In that respect, you can expect just a few playable characters to feature, which considering it'll be free-to-play, is a no-brainer.
The news comes following a posting for Dead or Alive 6: Core Fighters was posted on the Microsoft Store.
'First of all, about the listing on the Microsoft Store, that was a mistake from the development team,' commented Shimbori-san. 'We do have plans to make a free-to-play version, but we haven’t announced when it will be available. We can promise it will be out post-launch of the full game. We can’t talk about it yet since we don't have concrete details about what will be included yet. But, it will be similar to what we had with Dead or Alive 5: Core Fighters.'
Dead or Alive 6 will be stepping into the ring for PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One on March 1.
