Dead By Daylight director and head of partnerships at BeHaviour Interactive, Mathieu Cote, has lately participated in a slew of interviews. During these interviews he has stated discussions with Disney over Darth Vader as a killer have occurred, and he’s also discussed the legal headaches with trying to get Jason from Friday the 13th. Now, in another interview, the DBD director has teased a special Dead By Daylight map that is currently trapped in the “BeHaviour archives”.

Dead By Daylight reveals map trapped in the “BeHaviour archives”

YouTuber TestdeGanonbenj recently conducted an interview with Dead By Daylight director and BeHaviour head of partnerships, Mathieu Cote. The interview is entirely in French, so there may be some slight inaccuracies as a result of automatic translation.

During the interview, Cote was asked if BeHaviour have ever considered “breaking the usual 4v1 format for certain chapters that are very specific”. An example cited in the query included Subnautica for it being an “aquatic environment” and “underwater”.

In response to whether an underwater map would be possible, Cote revealed that “there is a version of an aquatic map in the BeHaviour archives”. Cote stated that he’s being “specifically vague,” but “yeah, it’s possible” for an underwater map to happen.

Lastly, the director said, “if you zoom out and remember that you’re living in a nightmare, you’re not living in reality, it’s entirely possible to create completely different environments”.

This doesn’t guarantee the aquatic map in the “BeHaviour archives” will ever see the light of day, but it’s good to hear that an underwater map is possible and has previously been thought about. Seeing as something concrete has been worked on, it was presumably in mind for an original chapter. However, it also potentially opens the window for highly-desired crossovers such as BioShock and Cthullu. Hypothetically, a BioShock chapter starring a Big Daddy killer and Elizabeth as a survivor in the underwater dystopia of Rapture would be amazing.
