Dead By Daylight has had crossovers with many famous horror properties. We’ve had the likes of Halloween and Nightmare on Elm Street in the past, and more recently we’ve had out of the box collaborations with Dungeons and Dungeons and CastleVania. BeHaviour Interactive has now said “more Japanese IPs are coming” to DBD, and this possibly confirms exciting leaks from earlier this year.

Right now Haunted By Daylight is around to enjoy, and there are 1,100,000 Bloodpoints available for players to get. Once this year’s Halloween event is over, we then have the return of 2v8 mode. Leaks have revealed the rewards and killer skill changes for 2v8’s return, meanwhile, other leaks have revealed the new killers and maps set to join 2v8 mode next.

While the return of 2v8 mode is exciting, a lot of players are eagerly anticipating more licensed crossovers. There have been leaks alluding to a popular anime crossover for Dead By Daylight, and there have also been clues that the next licensed DBD killer could be a horror icon from Japan.

Dead By Daylight is getting “more Japanese IPs”

Dead By Daylight leaker, Dvveet, has shared on X that DBD game director and head of partnerships at BeHaviour Interactive, Mathieu Cote, was on a Japanese online show called Blood Party Friday in celebration of DBD Day.

The DBD game director reportedly said, ““Keep paying attention because we have some really, really cool stuff that [Dead by Daylight] will be announcing soon that I think Japanese fans will be especially excited about!”.

Per Dvveet, BeHaviour Interactive has declared “more Japanese IPs are coming” along with a map for the All-Kill Chapter starring The Trickster and Yun-Jin Lee. In addition, BeHaviour want to do an “ocean map”.

While a map for the All-Kill Chapter is a promising proposition, the declaration of “more Japanese IPs” is very exciting. Earlier this year, RuthlessLeaks claimed we are getting a Perfect Blue collaboration that will be cosmetics and skins only.

In addition, based off clues from Ruthless, fans believe the licensed killer for March 2025 is Kayako from The Grudge. This hasn’t been confirmed by BeHaviour, or explicitly stated by Ruthless, but it’s the leading theory based off clues about the killer being more popular in the East. In addition, the Ju-On series will celebrates its 25th anniversary next year as the first Ju-On movie was released in 2000 for Japan.

The Perfect Blue collaboration isn’t official, nor is it confirmed we are getting Kayako from The Grudge in March. These are merely leaks and theories as of writing, but they have possibly received more credence with BeHaviour announcing “more Japanese IPs are coming”.
