Dead by Daylight is doing something a little different for some of its upcoming content plans. Rather than reveal a new chapter via beta testing it, instead, fans can go to a website and click on various art they like.
These concept arts highlight a theme of a new killer and survivor, which centers around some sort of holy aesthetic, rather than the typical gruesome horror elements and tie-ins we have seen so far in Dead by Daylight.
How Dead by Daylight’s Grimoire voting works
If you want to vote for what appears to be a new chapter, killer, and survivor, then you can head over to Dead by Daylight’s Grimoire website. It’s an animated site with a grimoire you click on. It then has three pages, going through what the killer might look like, alongside a survivor, and then the concept art for the chapter itself.
The killer has two styles of gothic Christian horror elements, with a dread demon-like appearance, mocking humanity in its form. Or there’s a more holy version of it, waiting to judge and smite you in the most ruthless pragmatic sense, similar to styles in Lords of the Fallen, Dark Souls, and things like that.
The survivor, on the other hand, gives two concepts for a female survivor. Either she is like an explorer, surviving a harsh apocalyptic endtime wasteland in light protective clothing. Or, a more holy nun-type character in a decorated dress, used to perform various rituals. Either it’s showcasing that theme that these demon killers are to do with holy sentiment, or a sort of doomsday scenario.
The Chapter concept art also shows signs of a weaker human, often depicted as begging and pleading, requesting mercy against the tall threat of the killer.
Either way, it seems like we are getting some sort of religious, holy, and demonic theme coming in the chapter.
If you’re interested in voting, check out the Dead by Daylight Grimoire site and cast your three votes. Once you cast a vote, you cannot go back, so make sure to flick through the pages before voting and decide on what theme you like the most.
We reported on this back in February when leaks appeared for a Divine Chapter and a vote for it. It was still very early work, but it seems like the devs have got a few working ideas now, and want fan help to push it over the finish line.
