Future Dead By Daylight Chapter is “officially confirmed” to have “divine” Killer and “mystical Survivor”

The next Dead By Daylight Chapter is an original based on Asian folklore. We should get the PTB this month, but there is the possibility it might be delayed because of the return of 2v8 mode as laid out in the August 2025 roadmap. While all we know about the next chapter is that it’s an original based on Asian folklore, there is another original Dead By Daylight Chapter for the future that is “officially confirmed” to have a “divine” Killer and “mystical Survivor”.

Dead By Daylight has opened a Grimoire for players to participate and vote in. The Grimoire opens anew every few weeks, and players can choose answers from four options for both Killer and Survivor.

Basically, The Grimoire is allowing DBD players to create a future original Killer and Survivor that will be moulded based on choices by the community. Right now, we are at Verse 4, and The Grimoire states in the Survivor passage “You try to escape the divine killer”. This confirms that the Killer for the Chapter is “divine,” meanwhile, the verse 4 Killer passage also states they are “known as the wielder of exalted truths”.

As for what we know of the Survivor, Verse 2 says they “come from a collapsed world” and verse 3 says they “lived a life of suffering”. On X, based on the Grimoire, Dvveet says that the original Chapter is “officially confirmed” to have a divine Killer that is possibly “angel or god-like,” meanwhile, there’s also a “mystical Survivor” and “religious/rapture undertones”.

Dvveet also says there’s “likely no map” because there has been zero mention of a location to choose between in The Grimoire.

Right now, you can vote for Verse 4 to seemingly choose the Killer’s power and the Survivor’s temperament. Below are the Verse 4 choices:

Verse 4 – Killer:

• Deception: The Truth can be kept secret. You hide, stalk, and ambush when least expected.
• Control: The Truth is yours to mold. You reshape the world to block, trap, or deny.
• Relentlessness: The truth cannot be avoided. You chase, close gaps, and gain ground quickly.
• Torment: The truth is an affliction. You deliver curses and maladies that grow worse over time.

Verse 4 – Survivor:

• Door of the hopeful novice: You were part of a spiritual order and learned their ways with rigid discipline.
• Door of the knowledge keeper: You collected artifacts of the old world, in the hopes of restoring what was lost.
• Door of the divine investigator: You sought out the worst of The Collapse, and studied ways to reverse its effects.
• Door of the lone pilgrim: You walked the land helping those in need, your ultimate quest too grave to share with anyone.

We don’t know when this original chapter will come out other than 2026. So far, it is shaping up to be very interesting, and we cannot wait to see what else The Grimoire asks.
