Sony Online Entertainment’s MMO, DC Universe Online, will undergo a server merge starting next week. The game will be moving to four servers, with two in the US and two in Europe. Console gamers will remain on their own servers.
While closure of servers isn’t usually seen as a good thing, indicating a game’s waning popularity, SOE is putting a positive spin on things, calling the newly formed servers, “super servers”.

It’s not yet clear if the current closer of SOE services will delay the planned server mergers.
