DC universe Online’s latest update gives users the ability to craft with the new R&D mechanic.
Players level 10 and above will decide to go to either the Watchtower or the Hall of Doom to first become accustomed to the mechanic, which lets the user bring equipment mods and consumables into the MMO.
It is broken down into four categories: researching, gathering, salvaging, and collecting. Researching includes finding upgrade plans in the game world, gathering involves acquiring exobytes, salvaging lets players turn items into crafting materials, and collecting focuses on collecting drops from boss mobs.
The R&D mechanic is available for free through DC Universe Online’s eighth major update.
DC Universe Online has seen major success since going free-to-play, with a 700 per cent rise in daily revenue and increased playerbase.
