DayZ developer Bohemia Interactive has now released its promised hotfix 1.25, which was supposed to fix the rampant duping exploits plaguing it. Unfortunately, based on a few player reports, this ongoing issue continues to rear its ugly head in official servers, prompting many to complain that the latest patch did nothing to improve the game.
Following the dev team’s announcement of server downtimes on X (formerly Twitter), a handful of posts from frustrated players have littered its comment section. One player, Timmyboicxnt, simply said that duping had not been patched after trying it in-game. Another, royle715950, later claimed, “Duping still works on official [servers]. You delayed an update for 2 weeks to fix the duping issue, and [it] still isn’t fixed.”
Despite the growing number of complaints, Bohemia Interactive has yet to respond, so it’s unclear whether the team will release another hotfix addressing these problems. But that said, we will continue to monitor the game’s official channels and update you whenever possible. It is worth pointing out, though, that with the launch of DayZ’s massive 1.26 update slated to drop alongside the Frostline expansion, it should only be a matter of time until the devs fix these ongoing dupe exploits for good.
While you wait, check out the DayZ update 1.25 patch notes below, which were accompanied by a character wipe for PC players and a full wipe for those on console.
