Dark Souls 2 for PC isn’t the visual tour de force many had hoped it would be, but thanks to modder Durante and his GeDoSaTo modding tool things are already greatly improved.

Without going into the fine details, the tool enables downsampling which renders the game at an ultra high resolution and is then scaled down to the resolution of your display. The end result is a much sharper image than you’d get by simply outputting at your display’s native resolution.

In addition there’s the ability to modify textures, and tweak in-game effects and post-processing, which are already delivering impressive results.

Given the game’s only just arrived for PC this is a very promising start for the modding scene.
