Codemasters has today confirmed that Blue Omega’s Damnation is to be released for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC in Q2 2009.

The steampunk-inspired third-person shooter promises huge open environments, frenetic combat, daredevil acrobatics and vehicle-based stunts. What looks to set the game apart from the competition is its true vertical gameplay, with thousands of miles of vertical feet able to be explored.

We saw the game back at Games Convention in August 2008 and it was showing promise, although its planned winter 2008 release did raise concern. Hopefully the game will benefit from the extra development time Blue Omega has been granted.
