Codemasters today confirmed that the Blue Omega developed open-world action title, Damnation, is to be released on May 22 for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.
Damnation claims to distance itself from the linear nature of most modern day shooters by presenting players with true choice in how to traverse the massive streaming environments. It’s these environments which are the focus of the latest developer video. Blue Omega’s Jacob Minkoff offers an insight into how Blue Omega created the game’s levels.
“All the environments have multiple paths through them, giving players real freedom in deciding how to go about tackling the enemy,” said Jacob Minkoff, Lead Game Designer. “Some will prefer to run straight at them with their trusty Railroad Spike Gun. Others would prefer to climb and leap right to the top, avoiding direct fire fights by sniping and raining down death from above.”
