CD Projekt Red has confirmed that multiplayer is coming to its next RPG Cyberpunk 2077, as announced on its official Twitter account.
A multiplayer feature in Cyberpunk 2077 was a hot potato from the start. In 2018, CD Projekt Red said in a financial conference that the sci-fi dystopian game would mimic grim fantasy The Witcher 3; a single player experience with no hidden costs for extra content. Then, studio president Adam Kiciński revealed that the developer is working on three Cyberpunk projects. One of these is the main game, and the other two were left unsaid. Rumours swirled of multiplayer yet again, but now we have a formal confirmation that the Samurai will invite the whole squad to Night City.
2/2 The plan for now is to deliver Cyberpunk 2077 in April, then follow up with DLCs (free!) and single player content, and — once we’re done — invite you for some multiplayer action.

‘The plan for now is to deliver Cyberpunk 2077 in April, then follow up with DLCs (free!) and single player content, and — once we’re done — invite you for some multiplayer action,’ CD Projekt Red stated, and linked to a list of job opportunities at the Polish studio. It sounds like it’s rustling up something special by asking for a helping hand, and the original creator of the Cyberpunk series said that CD Projekt Red ‘would do the best damn job they could’ with the license.
Cyberpunk 2077 launches April 16, 2020 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.
