Awesomely-named Belgium developer Fishing Cactus has announced the release of Shift Quantum for PS4, PC, Xbox One, and Switch this spring.

Billed as a cyber-noir action-puzzler, Shift Quantum centres around the eponymous program constructed by Axon Vertigo, a company that aims to provide folk with a better quality of life by hooking them up to the device and analysing their brain patterns.

Boasting a distinct black and white aesthetic, Shift Quantum revolves around players utilising a special mechanic known as Shifting to solve puzzles and create negative space and inverting your environment, thus clearing your path to escape a given location.

Shift Quantum has already set tongues wagging, having been chosen as one of the recipients of Unreal Dev Grants, which offers financial backing for teams and individuals who are coming up with impressive content based on the Unreal Engine 4.
