Crytek has removed microtransactions from the PC version of Ryse: Son of Rome.
Last year’s Xbox One version included microtransactions that allowed the player to purchase ‘booster packs’, currency packs used to quickly acquire new customisation items and upgrades.
Crytek has not clarified whether the decision to include microtransactions in the original release was the developer’s doing or Microsoft’s, or why it has chosen to remove them from the PC release.
The PC version of Ryse will also include 4 DLC packs that shipped separately on Xbox One, introducing additional skins, new multiplayer maps and a new Survival Mode. It also features additional graphics options, including support for 4K resolution.
Ryse: Son of Rome launches on PC on October 10.
