Free-to-play shooter Warface is set to be the latest game to jump on the PUBG train as Crytek announced a Battle Royale mode coming to the game over the weekend.

Revealing the news via blog post, it appears the new ‘experimental’ mode will be temporary, at least for now, and come in the game’s next update. It’ll follow the established pattern for the genre – every man for himself, weapons procured on site, and an ever decreasing playfield and it’ll take place on the game’s ‘largest PvP map to date’.

That being said, it’s decidedly smaller than most offerings of its ilk, with a Russian livestream of gameplay on the official YouTube channel revealing that it’ll only be sixteen players at launch. Still, the devs promise that after this initial period, they’ll process the player feedback, make changes where necessary and bring it back.

No specific date on when this mode will hit, although it’s reportedly already on the Russian test servers, so presumably it’s not too far away.Â
