Microsoft mouthpiece Major Nelson has confirmed that Crytek's acclaimed sci-fi shooter series, Crysis, is now fully playable on the Xbox One's backwards compatible feature.

Yep, all three Crysis games – Crysis, Crysis 2, and Crysis 3 – can be booted up on Microsoft's flagship box, and if you've got the discs lying around you can just pop them in and get started right away.

The original Crysis was released in 2007, and for many years was still considered a benchmark for PC gaming visuals. It looked amazing, frankly, and even 11 years on it's easy to appreciate just how much of a looker it was.

The other games were pretty decent too, although the first Crysis will always hold as special place in many gamers' hearts. Not me though; I never played it, as I couldn't afford the rig to power the damn thing.

Anyway, if you don't own a physical copy of the game but have bought them digitally, just head to the 'Ready to Download' section of your Xbox One to grab them.

Failing that, the Microsoft Store is flogging all three games for $19.99 each.
