If you want your game engine to be 100 per cent real time, your only option is the CryEngine, according to Crytek CEO Cevat Yerli. In an interview with Develop, Yerli stated that his studio’s engine is the only one “on the planet” that is 100 per cent real time.
“CryEngine is the engine you consider when you think of next generation development,” Yerli told Develop.
“We are actually the only engine on the planet, including Unity and Epic, that is 100 percent real time,” said Yerli. “People underestimate what it means to be 100 percent real time.”

From a gamer’s point of view, why should we care though? According to Yerli “there are games that are developed with CryEngine that you just cannot develop with the Epic and Unity engines”.
Recently Crytek has said that exciting CryEngine 3 games are to be revealed, and that it is hoping for a core gaming market on the Wii U.
