Crash Team Racing: Nitro-Fueled developer Beenox has announced that it is intending to fix a bug that's seen some PS4 players have their save files corrupted in the game.

In a blog posted over the weekend, the developer noted that the bug only seems to occur to PlayStation 4 players if their ghost data file size in Time Trial mode gets too large after racing too many trials. PS4 players are being advised to keep their playtime in this mode to a minimum until the patch deploys later this week.

However, to say sorry, and to thank players for their paitence, Beenox is granting all players, regardless of platform, a one time bonus of 2,500 Wumpa Coins – in-game currency that can be spent on cosmetics via the game's Pit Stop store. All you have to do to claim your bonus is play Crash Team Racing: Nitro-Fueled at any time between now and July 4, completing a race and then accessing the Pit Stop. You should find your bonus granted within 24 hours.

Of course, the main feature of the new patch will be the Grand Prix content, which will consist of a live season of content and races for players to compete in based around different themes, including one featuring Spyro the Dragon. There's a few other tweaks coming to the patch – which is set to launch on July 3 – including the introduction of online leaderboards, tweaks and fixes which should hopefully address the online problems the game was suffering from at launch
