Sierra Entertainment has announced that the iconic marsupial Crash Bandicoot is returning to stores this autumn with the release of Crash Bandicoot: Mind over Mutant for Wii, Xbox 360, PS2, Nintendo DS and PSP.

In development at Radical Entertainment, Crash Bandicoot: Mind over Mutant sees a rejuvenated Neo Cortex taking over the world one brain at a time! Cortex has developed a text-messaging device which controls both mutant and bandicoot minds and it’s up to Crash to free his friends and stop the evil genius.

Crash will once again be able to jack enemies and now he’ll be able to store his favourite monsters in his pocket, upgrade them and utilise their powers when he needs them most.

The world of Wumpa Island has also become free-roaming, allowing players to explore with different gameplay options depending on what creature is being used. Also new is the ability to play as Crash’s sister, Coco, in cooperative mode. Coco has a special treasure hunt ability.

Speaking of abilities, Crash has been given a few new moves for players to use, including a roll and counter combat system, digging and climbing.

Crash Bandicoot: Mind over Mutant is currently scheduled for release this autumn for Wii, Xbox 360, PS2, Nintendo DS and PSP.
