Crackdown 3 is just around the corner, and to make the occasion, Microsoft is offering a free download of the original Crackdown on Xbox 360 via Xbox One's backwards compatibility service.

Developed by Realtime Worlds, the original Crackdown came out in 2007, and quickly established the series' trademark nonlinear, destructive gameplay, plus of course the ridiculously enjoyable two-player co-op feature.

Crackdown sold 1.5 million copies by the end of 2007, although it wasn't released in Germany as it was refused a rating there.

Microsoft will finally launch Crackdown 3 after numerous delays on February 15, and you can also pick it up day and date on Xbox Game Pass.
