Although nothing is official, it’s possible Control 2 might appear at The Game Awards. MP1st has found a trademark in Europe for ‘CONTROL Resonant’. Remedy’s name is not attached to the trademark, but Nordia Attorneys at Law are listed as the representative, and they are used by Remedy Entertainment for all of their trademarks.

Control Resonant could be the title of Remedy’s highly anticipated sequel. However, the trademark is classified under video game services as well as miscellaneous products and TV series plus cinematographic films.

Remedy is collaborating with Annapurna Pictures for film and television adaptations of Control and Alan Wake. It’s possible that Control Resonant is the title of a live-action series instead, but we’ll just have to wait and see. Annapurna is also co-producing Control 2, and Remedy confirmed last year that the sequel isn’t affected by all of the resignations at Annapurna Interactive.

Besides Control 2, Remedy is also working on a remake of Max Payne. The Max Payne 1 and 2 remakes entered “full production” in 2024, and there are rumors of a remaster for Max Payne 3.

Control 2 and The Game Awards 2025 rumors

There are plenty of rumors and hopes for The Game Awards 2025 in addition to Control 2. The Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Remake is reportedly releasing before March 31, 2026, so it might finally be revealed at Geoff Keighley’s event.

Tomb Raider fans are also praying for the reveal of Crystal Dynamics’ new game. Rumors are growing about an open-world adventure in India, and The Legend of Lara Croft Season 2 is premiering on Netflix the same day as The Game Awards takes place.

Lastly, Death Stranding 2 is rated for PC, so a release date might be announced for everyone waiting to play the game on Steam. As for official news, Mass Effect spiritual successor Exodus is returning at The Game Awards 2025 with a new trailer, hopefully bringing a release date as well as Matthew McConaughey back.

The Game Awards is set for December 11. You will be able to watch it live on YouTube, Twitch, and Amazon Prime for the first time. We cannot wait for all the surprise reveals, and hopefully, Control 2 is one of the big announcements.
