SEGA has announced that Conduit 2, the follow-up to so-so sci-fi FPS from High Voltage, will be released in the UK on March 18, publisher SEGA has announced.

Conduit 2 will take players to the far reaches of the world to stop an alien invasion which can be fought in single-player, online multi-player battles, and all-new off and online co-op modes.

The sequel introduces Team Invasion Mode, the new co-op mode where players will be able to battle side-by-side in teams of four friends on the same screen. Additionally, Team Invasion Mode can be played online.

There’ll also be a host of control options available to players, including Wii Remote and Nunchuk, MotionPlus (improved edge tracking and transitions to pointer control) and the Classic Controller.

While not directly competing with this Wii exclusive, Crysis 2 hits Xbox 360, PS3 and PC at the end of March and might hurt potential sales from the hardcore. The biggest problem facing Conduit 2, though, is the lack of love for the original game.
