Not only is Codemasters promising a fun racer, packed full of high performance cars on real-life race tracks, but players will also be able to create all-new tracks using the custom circuit creation kit.

Codemasters claim that the game will give players unprecedented creative freedom to design and build unique race tracks from scratch using the DS touch screen.

Tracks can be created using track sections which can be pieced together to form anything from a high speed oval to a circuit filled with hair-pins and chicanes. A host of parts are available, including pit stops, dips, bridges, run-offs and even scenery.

It will also be possible for players to use the stylus to freely draw a circuit, with the game handling the complexities of converting the drawing into a circuit. To examine the circuit a 3D fly-through will be available to take a virtual tour or get into a test car for a test drive.

Once a circuit is complete players will be able to race against AI drivers or take the circuit into a multiplayer race either through single-card game sharing or with up to four players using Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection.

Race Driver: Create & Race is scheduled to launch exclusively for the Nintendo DS this summer.
