Codemasters has announced F1 Challenge, a top down iOS racing spin-off of the official F1 series.

Available to download from the App Store today for £1.99, F1 Challenge features over 90 race events from the F1 2012 season, including Time Trials, Duals, ‘Race The Ace’ challenges and 12-car Grand Prix events, along with the official drivers.

“F1 Challenge has been developed for quick-fire Formula One racing on the go,” said Codemasters. “Players will feel the thrill of Formula One on the move by using touch to steer, a simple tap to deploy K.E.R.S. and by slip-streaming to gain the advantage on their opponents in the game’s isometric view, tuned for Apple’s Retina Displays.”

The game requires at least an iPad 2, iPhone 4S, iPod Touch 5 or higher to operate, and you can take a look at the first screenshots here.
