The brilliantly-named Storm in Tea Cup has confirmed that survival horror title Close to the Sun will launch in Q1 2019.

For those who missed its announcement at last year's Gamescom, Close to the Sun takes place in 1890, at the height of Nikola Tesla's career. Here, players find themselves hopping on board a mysterious ship made by Tesla himself, which houses some of the fineste creative minds on the planet.

This all goes a bit Pete Tong however, as you quickly discover that the ship has played host to some sort of major disaster that sets history off on the wrong path. You control journalist Rose, who explores the ship in search of her sister while quickly discovering most of the crew have ended up brown bread.

Rose isn't alone however, as there's an as-yet unnamed ally who will aid players as they explore the water-logged passageways unarmed, using quick thinking and good old-fashioned legging it to survive.

Close to the Sun is set from a first-person perspective, with exploration seemingly at the forefront of the action as opposed to outright combat. Sounds intriguing.

The game is currently in development for PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One using Unreal Engine 4.
