Clash Royale is getting a new update which they’re called ‘the biggest update of the year’.
Clash Royale players can expect two new cards, a new ranked mode called the Path of Legends, Trophy Road rework, Deck Explorer, new King Levels, and much more. The update which is going live today (October 26) will result in some downtime.
There are also a number of bug fixes. For example, there is no more ‘Drag Glitch’ (Fixed an issue where placing two cards in quick succession would fail to play one of the cards).
Thanks to the Clash Royale website, we’re able to detail the update in full below.
Clash Royale update – two new cards
There are two new cards coming in this update: Monk and Phoenix.
Monk
Monk is a brand new Champion who has spent years studying his unique fighting style in his Arena, the Silent Sanctuary. This Arena is where he will be unlockable on the Trophy Road at 6500 Trophies!
Monk has a powerful 3-hit combo, which pushes back enemies with the final strike! This final super-punch includes a pushback which deals extra damage to every affected unit.
Monk’s special ability is Pensive Protection, which sees him create a protective aura around himself and nearby allies. This cuts damage taken as well as causing projectiles to be deflected.
Phoenix
Phoenix is a new Legendary flying unit with Melee Attacks. Once defeated, it explodes, causing damage to nearby units and buildings before retreating into a Phoenix Egg. If the egg is not destroyed, the Phoenix will rise again and be ready to carry on the battle.
New Ranked Mode – Path of Legends
The Path of Legends replaces the old League system on Trophy Road and consists of 10 Leagues. The Hall of Fame in the final League contains the best players in the world.
When reaching Arena 15 at 5000 Trophies, you will unlock the new Path of Legends by tapping the icon next to the Battle button on the main screen.
Each League is level capped, which means that your Cards or Tower Power can not go above a certain level defined by the League you are in.
After winning a battle in the Path of Legends, you will climb up to another step and get closer to the next league. At the end of each Ranked Season, all players will restart their journey through the Path of Legends.
Based on your season finish, you will receive a Win Multiplier that will help you progress to where you were before the reset. The Win Multiplier will decrease after each Battle you win.
Rewards can be claimed as you climb the Path of Legends. Some will be one-time rewards (displayed on the left of the Path), whereas others (on the right of the Path) will refresh after each season reset.
Trophy Road rework
With the new Path of Legends opening, the Trophy Road now stops at 7500 Trophies and will not reset at the start of a Season anymore. As thee are six new Arenas on the Trophy Road, Chest content and Victory Gold will also scale up.
There are also Level Gates on the Arenas – which can be unlocked so long as you have enough experience and upgrade your king level. All Arenas will also have Trophy Floors, so once you’ve reached that floor, you won’t be able to go back to the previous one.
Elsewhere, Champions are now available for players on the Trophy Road starting at 5500 Trophies (Arena 16, King Level 33).
Your King Level will now be separated from your Crown Tower level and will go up to level 50. The maximum Crown Tower level, now called TOWER POWER, will still be 14 and applies to both King and Princess Towers. Card Levels will remain unchanged.
OTHER CHANGES AND ADDITIONS
The Deck Explorer is a new feature that will help you to find new decks! You will find the Deck Explorer button below your Battle Deck, next to the Mastery button.
The Deck Explorer will give you multiple decks to choose from, and if you don’t like any of those, you can continue your search by including or excluding more cards!
Daily tasks
Elsewhere, Daily Tasks are available on the home screen, and will reward you for completing certain objectives.
There are three tasks to complete each day and each task can be completed simultaneously. When all Daily Tasks are complete, you get the Daily Bonus! When a new day starts, unclaimed rewards will remain, and new Daily Tasks will be available once the previous rewards are claimed.
By getting every Daily Bonus in a week, you will unlock a Weekly Bonus.
Hoggy bank
The Hoggy Bank is a new premium feature that will appear on the home screen from time to time, and will hold either Gems or Gold.
When you earn Gold while the Golden Hoggy Bank is active, you will receive additional Gold (the exact amount can vary) that will be stored in the Hoggy Bank. During the time that the Hoggy Bank is active you will be able to break it (for a price) and collect the goodies inside!
Along with new Mastery tasks and Magic items, there are also balancing changes. Three cards are getting Balance Changes with the update:
KNIGHT
- Hitpoints: (+3%)
GOBLINS
- Goblins Count: (3 -> 4)
- First Hit Speed: (slower, 0,2s -> 0,4s)*
*This change will also affect Goblins in Goblin Gang, Goblin Barrel, and Goblin Drill
MIRROR
- Will now be greyed out (unable to play next) directly after playing a Champion
