The veteran actor was missing from the previous game – SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom – but returns for The Cosmic Shake, much to fans’ delight.

One of the biggest changes this year is that you only play as SpongeBob – Patrick will follow you and act as a sidekick. He’ll bring you health bars but when lost also point you the right way.
Visually, the game captured the look and feel of the cartoons perfectly. It’s powered by Unreal 4 – which held a steady framerate during our gameplay demo.
THQ said that the Nintendo Switch is the lead platform for the game, and while that version doesn’t offer anti-aliasing, the developers confirmed the game is visually on par with the other console and PC versions.
The in-game soundtrack features 101 songs from the series, including Sweet Victory
When asked about co-op, THQ explained they were laser guided on making the single-player experience as good as possible. ‘We wanted to concentrate on a new SpongeBob game, and we’ll see if co-op is something we can approach in the future,” they said.
There’s no word yet on the official release date but we’re hoping for more information soon.
