Cities: Skylines has “smashed through” the 1 million sales barrier, Paradox Interactive has announced.

The publisher describes the city-builder as being “monumentally successful”, having broken its previous sales records within just days of going on sale.

“We continue to be amazed at just how players have embraced Cities: Skylines,” said Paradox CEO Fredrik Wester. “The game is still selling at a steady pace, which is remarkable for a game that has been on sale for well over a month. Once again, we want to thank everyone that has supported and continues to support this game.”

According to Paradox, an average of 21,000 players have continued to play Cities: Skylines concurrently since launch.
