Square Enix has announced that Chrono Trigger will be released across PAL territories on February 6, 2009 exclusively on Nintendo DS.

“Chrono Trigger is one of the most anticipated Square Enix titles of 2009 and we hope for all Nintendo DS owners to experience this charismatic time travelling adventure,” said John Yamamoto, president and chief executive officer of Square Enix. “And with Chrono Trigger’s multiple endings, there will be no end to the amount of times players can enjoy the classic story of Crono and his friends”.

The game was originally released in 1995 for the SNES and is regarded as an all-time classic, but was never available in PAL territories The enhanced DS version will feature the same story of the original game, but has been revamped with dual-screen presentation and touch screen functionally. The game will also feature a brand new dungeon and wireless play, said to bring a new dimension to the classic RPG.
