The PS4 version of Chivalry: Medieval Warfare will run at twice the framerate of the Xbox One version, Torn Banner Studios has confirmed.

As such, the game will be capped at 60fps on PS4 and 30fps on Xbox One. Both versions will render at 1080p.

The decision to target a lower framerate on Xbox One is an usual one for port-handler Hardsuit Labs, with most developers often choosing to opt for a lower resolution on Xbox One rather than impact the framerate.

Besides Chivalry, in fact, only Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition and Murdered: Soul Suspect are believed to target different framerates on either console, both being capped at 60fps on PS4 and 30fps on Xbox One.

Both the Xbox One and PS4 versions of Chivalry, meanwhile, include support for dedicated servers and 24-player multiplayer – double that of the last-gen versions.

Chivalry: Medieval Warfare arrives digitally on Xbox One next Tuesday, December 1, and on PS4 on Wednesday, December 2.
