Bandai Namco has released a short new trailer for Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown, which shows a couple of fighter jets doing cool manoeuvres in the sky. The jets in question are specifically the Japanese fighter F-2A and the F-35C carrier-based aircraft, which honestly means nothing to me. To be fair, it looks all looks so good it almost makes you want to stick on a pair of Aviators before puking against a window as a result of the g-force

The trailer showcases how players can pull off realistic manoeuvres, specifically in this case the Cobra (also referred to officially by those in the know as as the Post Stall). This is pulled off when a plane is flying at a decent speed and the pilot suddenly raises its nose into a vertical position, like a cobra pose, before going back to normal flight. See, I know my stuff, and did not Google that.

In Ace Combat 7, players take part in an increasingly tense conflict between Princess Rosa Cossette D’Elise of the Kingdom of Erusea, and the Osean Federation. The Osean Federation has paid no regard to the Kingdom of Erusea’s sovereignty, and it’s gone ahead with constructing a giant space elevator on Erusea’s territory. This has resulted in an elevated tension between the two nations, and there’ll only be one way to resolve the conflict: not with words, but with planes.

Ace Combat 7 will be released at some point in 2018 on PS4, Xbox One and PC. There’ll also be a PS4 exclusive VR experience for those folks that own aPS VR.
