Eidos and Beautiful Game Studios have today announced that Championship Manager 2009, the latest instalment in the long-running football management series, will launch for PC in April 2009.

The game will feature a complete graphical and engine overhaul and promises to allow users to lead their teams to glory by giving managers a true feeling of total control of their teams and clubs.

“We have a whole host of new features which we’re incredibly proud of,” said Roy Meredith, general manager of Championship Manager. “This is a new beginning for the Championship Manager franchise and we are 100% focused on getting it right, that’s why we have had a longer development time than any previous version of the game.”

In addition to offering dramatically improved navigation, Eidos and Beautiful Game Studios are promising an entirely new fully animated 3D match engine featuring over 500 motion-captured animations per player.

“This is our opportunity to give consumers a reason to believe in Championship Manager once again,” continued Meredith. “After 4 years of mid-table mediocrity, we’re making great strides to become genuine title contenders.”
